“ Have eaten there on more than one occasion. The food is always outstanding! Tonight, when we went (about 15-20 of us total ranging from infant to 55 years of age, having multiple children with us) to celebrate my stepdaughters' birthday. Everyone had the time of their lives. Had a positive atmosphere making it an entertaining experience. The staff was what made this night so special. Our waitress was incredibly kind and considerate. Our cook was entertaining in more ways than just with his cooking abilities, the manager took the time to make sure everyone's needs were met. Could not have gone better. thank you! ”

“ Mmmmmmm the Benihana of San Angelo, TX. Sign me up! My Texan friends have loved coming to Ichiban for years. In fact, I sent them a gift card from there as a birthday present years ago, and I was really impressed with how nice the staff was - I bought the gift card over the phone, and they mailed it, along with a note, to them! *thumbs up* So while I was visiting, I told them that I wanted to take them out as a thank-you for hosting me so graciously during my stay. We went at lunch time, before it got crowded, and I have to say, this place is delicious! Almost everything is identical to the Benihana chain except the prices and the shrimp appetizer. You order your meal, and the cook comes out to verify your order as you sip on onion soup as an appetizer. Each meal comes with vegetables (mushrooms, zucchini, and onions), dipping sauces, and fried rice. I had looked Ichiban up on Yelp and was prepared to shell out a lot of $ when I saw $$$$, but this place is actually VERY economical compared to CA prices. $14 for a hibachi chicken and filet mignon entree! I think the most expensive item on the menu was $15! You'd easily pay double that, if not more, at Benihana. The food is absolutely delicious! The filet mignon was seasoned perfectly and tender (even though I ordered it well done), the chicken was really tasty and not overcooked, the vegetables were yummy, the sauces were perfect with the meats, and the fried rice was phenomenal. I even ordered coffee, which was quite tasty! I've heard this place can get crowded at dinner time, often requiring a reservation in advance. Downside is that it's located in a strip mall, so it's easy to pass up, and not much to look at from the outside. But if you're in the mood for some good teppanyaki in this area, definitely check out Ichiban! ”
